19th February – Talk by Ken Sterne
February's garden group meeting was a little different from our usual program. The speaker we had originally booked was unfortunately taken ill and admitted to hospital just days before the date of our meeting, so Sheila approached one of our members and asked if he could help us out. Ken kindly agreed and thought carefully about what he would talk about.
It was a very interesting talk and unknown to us he had had a long and successful involvement with gardening. He started as a young boy and worked with older gardeners learning lots of tips from them. He won prizes and a certain amount of success which he demonstrated in his current garden creating a beautiful, colourful garden from scratch. He showed us photos of different stages of the garden's development. Thank you to Ken for stepping up just when we needed him.
