Food from Afar is the new name for International Cuisine! We aim to try all sorts of food from around the world, not just curries.

7th May - Pepitos Mexican Restaurant Derby

Twelve of us journeyed to the metropolis of Derby to partake of Mexican delights served up by a charming waitress under training under the eagle eye of the manager. The group ganged up on me and refused to let me have a starter because I might hold up the delivery of the main courses. I graciously forewent my starter of course. However, I had a cunning plan! When others ordered a dessert, I ordered a starter. I must congratulate the waitress under training, who took it all in her stride and remained unflustered.

For our next adventure we are testing out a restaurant we have not previously visited that serves Syrian and Moroccan fare. We are going to the Tarboush in Market Street, Loughborough at 6pm on 4th June 2026. So Far, twelve people have signed up.
