Coffee and Chat

The Coffee and Chat group meets every 2nd Wednesday of the month at various cafes or tea shops.
Everyone is welcome. Sign up sheets will be placed on the table at the monthly meeting or you can book a place by email to coffee@ashbyu3a.co.uk.

12th August 2026 - Ulverscroft Grange Tea Rooms

Six of us wended our way to the Tea Rooms at Ulverscroft Grange. The surroundings are splendid with lovely views of the Leicestershire countryside. It was a beautiful day with bright sunshine. Our table was situated by an open window. This caused an interesting "three bears" situation. For some, the sun made it too hot: for others, the breeze made it too cold. For the rest of us it was just right. Nonetheless, we had a good time with plenty of interesting conversation.

Our next gathering will be at Toon's Cute Wee Coffee Shop, Burton Rd, Castle Gresley DE11 9HQ at 10am on 9 September 2026. The Coffee Shop is inside the Toon's Furniture Store so you might be able to pick up a new dining room suite on your way out! The Coffee Shop does not take bookings so we will have to take pot luck on seating . Nine have signed up to be there so far.
